Our approach

The review starts before signing.

A reservation, deposit or preliminary purchase agreement may contain terms worth understanding before you accept them. The review depends on the property, available documents and stage of negotiations.

The purpose is to help you understand the legal position examined and the matters to address before the next step. This involves more than preparing the purchase deed.

A defined starting point

Findings that support your decision.

We define the scope of review in writing according to the transaction. The engagement may include a report distinguishing documented matters, outstanding questions and issues requiring attention.

  • Documents examined and limits of the review.
  • Legal findings and questions requiring clarification.
  • Recommended additional documents or verification.
  • Terms and next steps to consider in negotiations.

Legal due diligence does not include a physical inspection, land survey, valuation or technical, environmental, tax or financial assessment. Those disciplines and their fees are agreed separately where needed. We do not guarantee the absence of all risks, financing or permits.

  4. 04

    Decide the next step

Negotiations, documentation or closing coordination are agreed according to the needs and contracted scope.

Relevant experience

Legal judgment and direct support from El Salvador.

Juan Manuel Uceda’s practice includes real estate matters, asset reviews, security arrangements, contracts, powers of attorney and notarial or registry work. This provides a foundation for examining a transaction through its legal documents and terms.

Support is bilingual and involves the managing partner directly. Where technical, tax or foreign-law advice is required, its scope and responsibilities are defined separately.

Experience is described by its nature and scope without identifying clients, proceedings or confidential information.

FAQ

Questions before buying a property.

When should I request a review?

Preferably before making commitments or paying funds. If you have already signed or paid, mention this in the introductory conversation so the scope can be defined.

Does the review guarantee a problem-free property?

No. The assessment is limited to the agreed scope and information examined. The report should identify its assumptions, limitations and outstanding questions.

Does it include a physical inspection or valuation?

No. Inspections, surveys, valuations and technical assessments require specialists and a separate scope.

Can I manage the purchase from abroad?

Representation options and formalities depend on the transaction and documents. These are assessed before recommending a power of attorney or personal attendance.

Does the 15-minute call include reviewing my documents?

No. It allows us to understand the transaction and identify the next step. Document review requires a proposal and acceptance of the engagement.
